Dear Friend,

“Christmas time’s a -comin’,” as my friend Ricky Skaggs sings.

As we look forward to celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior, there are millions around the world who have little or nothing to celebrate. Their lives have been wracked by storms, sickness, hunger, poverty, and war. Worst of all, many have no real hope, because they have never heard the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ nor trusted Him as their Savior.

These are our neighbors, even if they are thousands of miles away. As Jesus tells us in the parable of the Good Samaritan, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and, ‘your neighbor as yourself’” (Luke 10:27).

We all want to help, but sometimes the needs seem distant or overwhelming. In this Christmas catalog, you will find practical ways you can help people in despair or distress. When Jesus saw the multitudes, “He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd” (Matthew 9:36).
