Pack a Shoebox Online
Each shoebox is a tangible expression of God's love for a child in need.
Operation Christmas Child demonstrates God's love to children in need worldwide by delivering gift-filled shoeboxes and the good news of Jesus Christ!
Through a gift-filled shoebox, you can give hope, joy, and the Good News of Jesus Christ to children worldwide. For each shoebox that you pack online, we’ll fill it with school supplies, hygiene items, toys, and a t-shirt to touch the heart of a child.
Each shoebox is a tangible expression of God's love for a child in need.
"Let the little children come to me ... for of such is the kingdom of God." -Jesus
Luke 18:16 NKJV
Costa Rica is one of the countries Canada sends shoeboxes to and sometimes sends Canadian volunteer teams to participate in shoebox outreach events. On one of these trips there was a Canadian volunteer who was handing out shoeboxes to the children. She picked up two boxes but one was significantly heavier than the other. She became nervous that she would be giving a box that was mostly empty to the child and this upset her.
After she handed out the two boxes she stood in front of the boy who received the shoebox that was really light. When he opened the box she couldn’t see what was inside but saw his face completely light up and he began screaming really loudly. He kept saying; “I have some crocs, I have some crocs, I have some crocs.” The boy had desperately wanted a pair of croc shoes and there in his shoebox was a pair of crocs that fit him perfectly.
The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations.
Samaritan’s Purse Canada is audited annually by an independent public accounting firm, and our financial statement is available upon request. Occasionally we receive more contributions for a given project than can wisely be applied to that project. When this happens, we use these funds to meet a similar pressing need as directed by our Board.
The story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37) gives a clear picture of God's desire for us to help those in desperate need wherever we find them. Since 1970, Samaritan's Purse has followed Christ's command by aiding the world's poor, sick, and suffering. We are an effective means of reaching hurting people in countries around the globe with food, medicine, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ. This, in turn, earns us a hearing for the Gospel, the Good News of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
If you’re not in Canada, you can give through one of our worldwide offices. Each office works toward the same goal of taking the love of Jesus Christ to victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, and disease.
