Welcome to Processing Center Volunteer Registration

Throughout the year, we have several volunteer projects in the Calgary Processing Center. As projects begin, we’ll update this page so check back regularly. Here is our next volunteer project:

PACK A BOX (PAB) SHOEBOX PACKING!

Have you ever wondered how we assemble shoeboxes that have been packed on our website at www.packabox.ca? It all happens in the Calgary Processing Center! At the beginning of each new year, Operation Christmas Child orders all the needed items like school supplies, toys, hygiene items, t-shirts etc based on what donors have requested on www.packabox.ca. Once items arrive in the Calgary Processing Center we begin unpackaging and sorting the items so they are ready to be packed in shoebox gifts. Each shoebox has a specific packing list so it requires special attention so that each gift is loving packed as the donor requested.

Volunteers will be walking up and down a product line, selecting specific items to add to individual shoebox gifts. Volunteers will be walking throughout the shift, with some light lifting. Some volunteers will serve in the packing area to sort shoeboxes and pack them in cartons or restock the packing line as needed.

Processing Center volunteer opportunities are restricted to those 14 years of age or older. A 1:5 chaperone is required for youth volunteers between 14-17 years of age.
